Can't get to LJ from work any longer, so my only point of contact with the outside world is through any of my phones, my personal email, or my work email. I'm pretty sure personal email will be shut off soon since to be anywhere close to secure and prevent data from being sent outside the company, they really do have to disable that. Le sigh.

10:47 pm: The New Psychology of Leadership
Fascinating read. Didn't know this was a new way of looking at leadership. That is to say, I didn't know Bush was using cutting edge tactics and like most people thought he was just a bumbling buffoon. Sheds some new light on things.

Some 7-11's are being turned into Kwik-E-Marts to hype up the Simpsons movie. They'll be selling Buzz Cola, KrustyOs, and Squishees. Now if only they had one around here!

...oh wait. I don't care all that much. But it's still fun to see what hoops advertisers are going through these days.

It's amazing. It's a 3d platform game, sure, but if you set it up right you can turn the world into a 2d world for a moment. I think you have to see it to understand it.

My interests are pretty varied, but this article hits some of the more tricky ones: neurology, perception, and the fairness of legal systems. Good read.

09:35 am: Ancient Greek computer
You might have heard about this. Divers in the early 1900's recovered bits from a 2,000 year old shipwreck. Turns out there was a device with intricate gears and of unknown purpose in there. Can't scrape off the sea gunk for fear of damaging it, and now they finally have the technology to look at it. The 7 page article in the new Yorker explains it all, but there's two other links with additional information.

The world's first "computer", depending on what you consider a computer. It's still a lot more sophisticated than anyone thought any civilization was for that time.

If you've seen 300, click here. If you haven't, it won't be nearly as funny and I advise you to wait so you'll get the full impact. No really, wait!
